The New Coat 2
When things arent glued down they are more apt to change. This is a second take on the same theme. I am still not sure where it will go.
I often find that we bloggers dont want to do a hard critique, afterall it is for the all to read and often in blogs of people we do not know face to face, but I open my door to any constructive criticism.
The New Coat
I have yet to paste this one down but more or less here is my next piece. I tried oxidizing the back drop metal but I guess it is stainless steel because after hours in a solution it didnt even get brown edges. I found this little girl in a box the other day in an antique store and she sang to me. She is a beautiful fall day bundled up in a wool coat.

Playing with transparencies
A good blog?
I have recently been thinking about what really makes a good blog. After several conversations with friends I truly believe a good blog is a free expresion of the soul that invites others to view it and react. Equally a good blogger reaches out to others to share viewpoints, common experiences, give kudos, etc. I view blogging ulimately as a way to search for the common thread of humanity between all of us and join us (between countries, cultures, social standings) in a way that delves deeper into our souls than any other encounter we may have in our everyday lives. The blogs I read do this for me. They sing to me and offer me this common thread that I reach for and find so beautiful. Thank you.

Imagenes del verano
He vuelto
Llevo mucho tiempo sin pisar por mi blog, dejándolo por muerto. Creo que nos pasa a todos. Un amigo mio me expreso que quería que escribiera en español y por eso dedico este blog a Pedro.
?Donde he estado?

Some new finds
Last weekend I was lucky enough to go to the Rastro in Madrid. The Rastro is a large flee market filled with all sorts of goodies for those in search of collage items and cheap thong underwear.
A few years back, I went and happened upon a man that was selling old, mostly unusable, watch pieces. When I arrived to the Rastro this time I went straight to search for my old friend. I looked and looked for him, thinking that perhaps he moved his stand. After a good hour, I resorted to asking other vendors if they knew what happened to him. The first man refused to answer me. The second and third vendors I asked confirmed that he had died a few years back. A bit of a downer to the whole trip to the Rastro but here are some of the finds I did encounter on my scavenger hunt among the sometimes haphazardly, strewn, melange of things.

Dedicated to Joanne Gover Yoshida
"I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud"
I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
long the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed---and gazed---but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.
